Very simple and with a set of features which are sufficient for working on a pdf file, if you are just an user of pdf files and not creating them. The after sales support is quick and driving you to the feature you need with the right use.

I am giving 4 stars at the moment based on my initial use. The app is intuitive and appears to have the functionality of the Adobe Pro version. I used the merge function and it worked seamlessly. I didn’t check if there was an ordering function, I assume that there is. In another 30 days and I will become more familiar with it and give an update to this review. The price is very reasonable, a tenth of the price, when compared to the full Adobe Pro version. So, let’s put it to the test and see what’s up.
Just spent $50 on this and I can’t insert pages as it says here. There are no instructions, after much trial and error I found that clicking on security icon you can add a page. Once you do this, the page never saves. It’s a waste of $50 I can’t believe I took the chance on this!!

I have been working with computers for more than 20 years….seriously, I started with MS-DOS. I would rather go back to MS-DOS than have to use PDF Rader Pro again….wow, really bad! I have an iPad app that is so much better than this. This is the single most frustrating app/program I have ever used….Vista bad!

Had trouble for a bit but I did start with chatgpt but after getting the understanding of how to download and where to store it I opened it easy
Scam
So I pay $79 on the Mac App store for this and it still wants me to subscribe or pay more when it was supposed to be for a lifetime license? Seems very scammy.

Actually corrupts pdf forms. I have to send pdf forms to Windows just to fill them in. My employer sends me forms to fill out but not with this application on Mac. I have experienced PDF reader pro corrupting a good form. I really wanted this app to work but in the end I had to move to a windows machine to fill out forms.
Restore Purchase FAIL
UPDATE: Developer's reply is an automated response. Look at the other critical reviews and you'll see the same. Bottom line: I paid $59.99 for this app on the macos and there are still in-app purchases required to use all of the editing features (that I needed the most). Example, you can edit a PDF using this app or Adobe's Acrobat but both require in-app purchases to get the job done. This has nothing to do with a PDF file, rather the app itself; but you'll notice the response I received from the developer does not address the problem. I implore Apple to review this app since it costs > $50 because it leads the customer to believing the premium version allows editing as advertised in the app store for the premium price. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Purchased PDF Pro but cannot use it to edit a PDF without additional in-app purchases. No thank you. Uninstalling now.
Horrible and Bugged
I am sorry...but this is the most bugged program ever. I cannot edit pdfs correctly and effortlessly. I will now buy another program that can.
Why did you change the program??
I have been using PDF Expert for years and suddenly EVERYTHING changed and I hate it! It’s confusing and now I have trouble filing my documents withe courts-they won’t accept them! I don’t know why!

With the latest update, all the ways i liked to use are gone. So I'm constrained in my work trying to figure out how to compensate which i find irritating and slows my work down.
Garbage and Spam
I paid $98.45 for a garbage program that can not modifficate a simple PDF.
Defective Software, purchased but unable to unlock or obtain relief from vendor
Would be zero stars for this one, but review site requires at least 1 star. I purchased the software but was unable to unlock the version downloaded. After months of correspondence with the vendor, I was now told that they are unable to unlock the software - - clearly untrue, or refund the purchase price. To anyone who reads this, be advised of the risks before you purchase. This is the first and only time I have had any issues with apps purchased on the Apple App Store. So, the problem must be with the vendor/app.
Sluggish
Overall it was a good app, until one day it started being very sluggish. Doesn’t scroll smoothly, images are stretched, or compressed. Can’t barely scroll sideways. It’s painful to use.
Peter Principle at Work
This program used to be great. Now it crashes at least once when opened. The formatting of text notes splits words randonmly making them unreadable. Several of the menu options are no longer accessible. This may be an issue with Mac Sonoma OS, even the most up to date version, so beware if that is what you use.

Abusive program
This program will imbed itself in your system and start opening every pdf. If you click off the box to not use pdf pro for everything, it doesn’t work. In addition pdf you do open, will always open with pdf pro. I hate it. Had to remove it from the computer. Also, pdf pro doesn’t render documents as well as Preview in many cases. It could be great but enough already!

Avoid this application — it is confusing and similarly named to another application. I have asked for a refund from Apple less than 15 minutes after downloading. UPDATE: I appreciate the developer reaching out to me to ask for my specific needs. For starters, I'd like to see a video workflow of scanning in a document and then running the OCR and saving it. Yes, its simple. But the steps in this app feel cumbersome compared to Nitro PDF.
Best Option for The Business
We reviewed many tools to create and edit PDF as well as convert documents. PDF Reader Pro was really the easiest and addressed the issues we were facing with other tools.
Crashes Constantly
I am running MacOS Ventura and for the last couple of months this app keeps crashing and showing black screens. This was working perfectly before this, and it is frustrating.
Duped into Purchase
Litterally a Pig with Lipstick. Was trying to buy a simple easy to use PDF Editor and this is clearly not it. Not the least bit intuitive and I have doubts that it has ever been tested on my specific platform MacMINI M1 with version 14.4.1 of MacOS. Total waste of $59 for the Pro version. Apple should not allow them on their App Store it is so bad to try and use. Buyer beware!
Great editor, responsive to feedback
I've been using PDF Reader Pro for 2 years as a business owner and haven't had any issues where I needed to reach for another solution. The team also responded to a usability request I had (to make the AI chat widget hideable) and delivered the feature in the next release. I'm very satisfied with my purchase.
Aweful customer care
I had purchased this app many years ago via one time payment purchase and once I updated it last week I can't use its features anymore. I contacted their customer service and they were not able to resolve the issue and they don't respond to me anymore!

Consider the Spend for Adobe
This is one of the most non-intuitive programs I have ever used. I finally get a text box, enter text and there is no way to highlight or change the font color.
Table feature doesn't work
The main reason I picked this one over others is for the table feature BUT it doesn't work. I'm very frustrated that it doesn't work and that the free trial didn't trial that feature. How do you advertize a feature and it not work?
Fantastic Program
This PDF editor is great - able to crop individual PDF's then merge them into a one document booklet. You can even edit text, but therein is why I've given it 4 stars instead of 5. In editing text, you have no option for "Justify" alignment, which means if you edit a "Justify" aligned text, it does not preserve "Justify" (converts it to "right alignment") and you can't get it back to "Justify" - something you should add to an update, as lots of professional PDFs use Justify in text blocks.

I downloaded the program to edit necessary documents and it doesn't edit it at all. It doesn't regognize the text needed to be eded.
Image to PDF
I use this app for Image to PDF and it works great! You can even reverse it from PDF back to image. This app seem to have many features but this is the main thing I use it for. I couldn't be happier with how well it works. Also, you can append images to a previously created PDF. I just love this happ so much I had to write a quick review here to express it! : )
As Good As Adobe
I gave rhe free version of the PDF reader a bit skeptical but soon realized that it was as good as Adober Acrobat reader. I decided to pay for the PRO version and think it adds more capabilitities. I'm very happy I decied to try and then pay for the PRO version.
Crashes
Kind of want my money back. The app crashes while in the middle of editing a document or converting files. I have to force quit the app and restart.
Update notes never say what's been changed
Sadly the developer uses the update notes to claim that its brand new and rebuilt when it's really just the same old program and you have no idea what they've actually updated.
Much Improved But...
New version is a step in the right direction. But I still can't figure out how to change color of text from blue (default) to black (should be the default). Seems pretty simple but it's buried somewhere and I can't figure it out!! Every change I make reverts back to blue.
I hate this app
I wanted to create a fillable order form for my business and this has got to be the WORST app for a beginner as it offers very little help and information. To think I paid for the PDF Reader Pro is angering as I've had this app for awhile now and have created ONE form that is barely funcional after hours and hours of effort. Unless you're well versed in creating these kinds of documents, I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. I've finally given up and will attempt to find something else that will be more user friendly. I guess the only winner is the company who collected my money...

Completely Useless - Zero Stars
Cannot change fonts so editing is pretty useless. Tried the export to Word feature, export to text feature, and export to Excel and they all came out with nothing but wingdings/symbols or nothing at all. Look elsewhere if you need truly edit existing PDFs.
Rip Off
Ending up getting the ral Adobe product. This is fake. Go to convert a pdf to word and it wants you to pay another $20 and so on. To those clowns at Adobe, come up with a more resonable one time price for Pro and I will buy it. As an independent contractor, monthy fees are unacceptable.
It Has It ALL
I am always amazed with the features offered by this application. I need to do something with a PDF document and, lo and behold, there is a feature that takes care of it. Features like Remove Security or Extract a page. I highly recommend this app, it is well worth the price.
Easy to use and great for PDF creation/modification
Very happy with the app to creat and modify pdfs for my business. Use mostly the creation from word files to pdf and create forms that can then directly be edited in the pdf.
Works Very Well
Very useful app. Definitely worth a five star and the only reason I gave it a 4 star is because I had to manually apply signature to each page. I would like to have a mechanism to add signature to a specific location across the entire pages of my PDF something similar to adding page number but this time for signature.

An Essential App for Mac people
